She is the real ‘lady rocker’. Last year’s Gina Glocksen was nothing compared to her. This gothic nurse is just cool, calm, and confident. Anyway, I’m not a big fan of rock but this one is definitely no joke, just like Randy said that she’s the female Chris Daughtry.
So, starting next week they will sing to the fullest and fight for their future. I really can’t wait or them to sing on stage, especially since Simon says, “You ain’t seen anything yet” (or something like that).

I know I originally said this was an ‘Austin Edition’ of Ladies of Rock, but I think props need to be given out to all women of rock—not just the amazing ones of Austin.

One thing that I think women have in common is that we all love to feel beautiful, special, and, dare I say it, sexy! Andy Warhol’s famed Debbie Harry portrait has been sold for a cool $5.9 million. According to ContactMusic.com, the portrait, from 1980, sold at auction at Sotheby’s in London.

Warhol’s impression of Blondie singer Harry, made at the height of her post-punk fame, was produced on a pink silkscreen canvas.

Metallica Concert Could Be Canceled?

 

It’s possible that Metallica’s July 14 concert in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, might not happen as planned. The Chronicle Herald  (via Blabbermouth.net) is reporting that the Halifax Regional Municipality is threatening to withhold services for the show, unless promoters pay back a debt that they owe for concerts that were organized in 2010.

Halifax want to be paid back the remaining $359,550 of the $400,000 advanced to MacKay Entertainment last year, due to poor ticket sales in advance of shows. The services in question include police, fire and a permit allowing concessions to be sold.

Doors Work On Tribute Robby Krieger, John Densmore Work on Doors Tribute Album

Former Doors Robby Krieger (guitar) and John Densmore (drums) are lending their talents to a unique tribute album to the legendary band. The two musicians are contributing to All Wood and Doors, a release that will include acoustic versions of some of The Doors’ most famous songs.

The album is by acoustic players James Lee Stanley and Cliff Eberhardt, and other special guests include Peter Tork (The Monkees), Timothy B. Schmit (Eagles), Laurence Juber (Paul McCartney and Wings) and others. All Wood and Doors is due out on July 12.
